
Turkey Sweet Potato Meatloaf with Honey Mustard Topping
We never met a meatloaf we didn’t love!
Meatloaf is comfort food at its finest – but here’s what happens when you combine comfort and nutritious foods! You get healthy & delicious! This meatloaf is made with grated sweet potato and a scrumptious honey mustard topping that is perfect for family meals.

The sweet potato melts into the meat loaf leaving a sweet & savory taste that even kids will love. Serve with some brown rice or just a vegetable loaded salad.
Don’t forget to make extra honey mustard sauce to drizzle over each serving of meatloaf and it’s also delicious over brown rice.
Turkey Sweet Potato Meatloaf
- 1 lb. ground turkey (94% fat only)
- 1 small onion (diced very fine)
- 1 tablespoon grapeseed or olive oil
- 2 cups grated sweet potato (1 medium sweet potato)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons dried sage leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Meatloaf Topping: 1 tablespoon of honey mixed with 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Saute onions in olive oil until tender. Add the 2 cups of grated sweet potato in with the onions and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until potatoes start to get soft.
- Lightly salt & pepper while cooking.
- Add the ground turkey to a large bowl.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl.
- Let the sweet potatoes cool for a few minutes and then blend everything lightly using your hands.
- Try not to over mix.
- Form into a meatloaf shape and bake for 30 minutes or until cooked through.
- Drizzle the honey mustard topping on top of the meatloaf and bake an additional 5 minutes.

Let the sweet potatoes and onions cool before mixing.

Spray a sheet of foil with nonstick spray and lay on a cookie sheet.
