How to Roast the Best Spicy Pumpkin Seeds
- 2 cups pumpkin seeds, rinsed well and dried
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Seasoning:
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (a little more if you like it spicy!)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the lid of your pumpkin in a circle that is pretty. This is the top of the pumpkin where you need to enter with your big spoon.
- Carefully remove all the seeds from your pumpkin.
- Working in your kitchen sink, place all the seeds in a colander and rinse well. Separate the seeds from the membranes and rinse again.
- When the seeds are well rinsed, lay them on a paper towel to dry.
- When the seeds have dried, toss them with the olive oil in a medium bowl.
- Mix together the seasonings and evenly coat the seeds.
- Place the seeds on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for about 15.
- Flip the seeds and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Store pumpkin seeds in an air tight container or Ziploc bag.
