
Learn how To Make this Quick and Easy Tzatziki with Greek Yogurt and Sour Cream
Tzatziki sauce is a Greek sauce that is typically made from yogurt, minced garlic, cucumbers and a little olive oil and lemon. This sauce is also known as Greek cucumber sauce and served as a typical Greek condiment.
Tzatziki is so delicious when served with gyros, beef shish kebabs, diced vegetables or any grilled meats you can put between flat bread!

Authentic Tzatziki is made with yogurt, but with this recipe we use the combination of both sour cream and yogurt!
Easy Tzatziki Sauce
You will love this Tzatziki Cucumber Sauce that is healthy and delicious with tons of flavor.
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 medium cucumber, grated and lightly salted (see notes)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-1/2 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped fine
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Wash the cucumber and wipe dry. Peel the cucumber in “stripes” leaving 1/2 of the peel intact.

Using a hand grater, grate the cucumber until you get about 1-1/2 cups. Lightly salt the cucumber and let sit on a paper towel to absorb the water. Change the paper towel if it gets too wet.

Mix everything together in a small bowl. Taste and add additional lemon juice if desired. Refrigerate for 1 hour before using.

Tzatziki is deliciuos with some toasted flat bread.

Using a sharp knife or potato peeler, cut part of the cucumber peel leaving small strips behind. If you would prefer not to have any seeds, Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise and gently scrape out the seeds using a spoon.
