
Cauliflower and Cheese Recipe with Green Peas if you Please
Cauliflower and Cheese is one of our many favorite vegetable recipes. We also love a crisp green pea, and these two vegetables, combined with cheese, goes very well together.
The more nutrients you add to your meals, the better off your body will be. So sneak in some extra nutrients whenever possible.
Lightly Steam the Cauliflower
Using a sturdy sharp knife, cut the cauliflower in half, then slice those halves into quarters. Cut out the core and break apart the cauliflower using your fingers.
Gently steam cauliflower until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
Prepare The Cheese Sauce

Basic Cheese Sauce for Cauliflower
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan Cheese
In a smaller sauce pan, melt butter; stir in flour and salt and stir constantly until well blended. Raise heat just a little bit, slowly add in milk, stirring constantly. Cook until sauce is well thickened and then add in cheese.
Now Put it All Together
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place cauliflower in a baking dish and add 1 cup of thawed green peas. Pour sauce over top and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese. Bake for about 15 minutes uncovered.
